Max is passionate about gardens and it is something that has been nurtured through her life. She worked at Denman’s Gardens and various other plant nurseries while studying for her degree. ‘Denman’s Gardens was a pivotal moment for me’ she says ‘walking into Johns garden through a secret gap in the hedge there was an apple tree with a Kiftsgate rose rambling through it and it was shimmering with petals and light and I had never seen anything quite so beautiful’ and I just loved being there. I’d sit myself in the greenhouse taking money for the garden and watering plants but in quiet moments I’d quietly pour over the RHS plant book’. Later she studied with Christopher Pickard Design School, who at that time was teaching at the Garden Museum, ‘It was the shift I knew I needed and 25 years on I can say I have never looked back’.

We are a garden design and landscape design company and our emphasis is to plan and execute beautifully conceived spaces that have tons of atmosphere and style.

We are very experienced at working as part of a large design team. It is normal for us to be able to liaise with architects, planning consultants, engineers, M&E services and QS teams. We often have to liaise with councils for relevant permissions and other professionals such as Arboriculturalists, Bio-Diversity Net Gain Consultants (BNG) and specialist lighting consultants. We have stone suppliers, fabulous nurseries and suppliers of all kinds of accessories.

Every project is unique and a new opportunity to create something wonderful. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, thoughtfulness and a desire to create beautiful gardens. Our personal approach underlines everything that we do.

Max is married to Philip and they and their daughter live with their dogs in the countryside; family, walking the dogs, cooking and working in their own house and garden.
